--verse info--

This is pretty much all over the place, so it may or may not make actual sense.

- Reincarnation!verse, more or less.
- Clive's research has proved that none of their former selves actually existed in their world, though, which has led to him having a lot of theories on what he calls "transdimensional reincarnation". Theories which he will expound upon, at length, with only the slightest prompting.
- Everyone has memories of their alternate selves, although there's variation in how much they remember.
- Their world is a pretty average, modern world.
- They've fallen into positions that very roughly correlate to their canon relationships, but the entire flow of their lives is pretty different to canon.
- Clive himself is in a much better position than his canon counterpart, particularly.
- Layton teaches history at the University of Westminster.
- Clive has had a bit of a range of career attempts, personally; he started off studying history at Westminster, dropped out after six months and spent about two years working as an engineer before managing to get a novel published.
- He's had a few digs from the others about the fact that he's essentially just novelising their alternate lives with the names changed, although pretty much all in good faith.
- Descole is Jeanne Descole in their world and she works as an engineer, at the same place Clive was working after he dropped out.
- Luke is Layton's godson, and wants to learn all about history and teaching so he can be a teacher like Layton. This is, in fact, doomed to failure because Luke would probably be the worst teacher ever.
- Flora's mother didn't die in this world - though her father did - and Flora goes to the same school as Luke (though in a different year, obviously), which is how they met. -
